Brief Background & Current Status
My name is Phil Caruso, and this website will document the journey I am undertaking from now until the end of December to not only change my physical being, but improve every facet of my life.
On August the 18th 2008, I launched the online documentation of my journey. I had always been an active person, but had constantly yo-yo dieted over several years, leading to moments of happiness but also despair. I needed sustainable motivation, discipline, and above all else, COMMITMENT!
In December 2007, after joining and leaving several gyms I decided to join gym that was both ideally placed near my work, and my home. EFM in Ryde. I was able to meet the owner and my trainer, Aaron. I began my training that week and we had several weeks of hard training, a good diet and enjoyment. I lost a good amount of weight that I had put on, and was developing a good amount of muscle. However somewhere along the line something changed. Due to other commitments, I was not able to attend the gym as often as I would of liked, and eventually this saw me fall to the wayside, again. I was beginning to realize that, what I was looking for, was not a quick fix, but a LIFE CHANGE.
At the beginning of July, I sat down with Aaron and my other trainer Jarryd to discuss motivational strategies, as both of them also were looking for sustainable motivation to achieve their own fitness goals. Although these two trainers were incredibly fit, everyone has different goals related to health and fitness and theirs hadn’t been completed yet, as were mine.
So we came up with a plan, a ‘challenge’ if you will. For 12 weeks we were going to push ourselves to the limit in our training, be strict and disciplined in our diet, and be well on our way to achieving the best body we could, along the way developing a strong sense of discipline and rejuvenating our passion for Health and Fitness. But for me, the 12 week challenge will not end there…..
Project Fat 2 Fit
6 weeks into the challenge (and the time of writing) I decided that, I was going to need a tool, to help me stay on the track to victory. 12 weeks was a good start, but I needed something long term. Something which I know would become a lifestyle for me. I found the answer. I had seen many successful transformations in the past, but only a few people really put themselves out there on the web and documented their progress. I was going to be one of those people. Not because I wanted glorification (although some may think that – but that is outside my control) or because I wanted to boost my ego. I chose to create this website as a means for others to come in, and hopefully be inspired by my progress. I wanted to create an online community where others could feel that with the power of the spirit and some determination, they too would be capable of making such changes. My hope for this website is to demonstrate the power of commitment and dedication to a goal. I want to make my health and personal appearance my number one priority, and I’m not looking back, not anymore.
